Burial Story
Robert, who was 19, went to Austria with the 1st Battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment and was included in a draft of the Royal Leicester Regiment to go to Korea. He was a well-known amateur footballer in Leamington, having played on the right wing for Leamington Southend and latterly, South Leamington. He was in a team that won the "Courier" Cup. He worked as a painter and a decorator with his father before starting his National Service.
