Burial Story

Cpl Clift was the son of Charles and Isabella Clift, born in Grimsby, Lincolnshire.  In 1939 he lived in Grimsby and was a fish box maker, like his brother, with his father a fish carter.  He joined the army in 1941 and served in the North Africa campaign, leaving the army on demobilisation but re-enlisting in 1947. He died in the battle of Maryang-san and was engaged to be married in May 1952.
