The following appeared in the Manchester Evening News on 20 October 1951: "Clarke ? Treasured 24th birthday memories for Oct 21 of our dear son and brother, Sergt. H. Clarke (our Buddy) (1st A. and S.H.) killed in action in Korea Nov. 5, 1950. If we could only clasp his hand, His dear face to see, Just talk with him and see that smile That meant so much to us. Sorrowing Mam, Dad, Brother Frank. No birthday kiss, just memories of one we miss, Sisters Joan, Kath and Margaret, Brothers-in-law Alan, Harry and Arthur. 15, Elsmore Road, Manchester 14."
