Dear, Korean War Veterans. Hello, I'm Jeon Sojung, 17-year-old student living in Korea. I am writing this letter to say thank you. These days, there is a social street campaign, to prevent infectious diseases. And as the corona virus infection-19 (Corona 19) situation worsens, people with underlying diseases such as renal failure, high blood pressure and diabetes fear corona virus infection. It's because most deaths are caused by similar diseases. Patients with underlying diseases often fail to follow the "restraining oneself from going out" recommendation due to medical checkups, but critics point out that there is a lack of countermeasures. Experts say the elderly and chronically ill are more vulnerable to infection and more deadly because of their weak immune system. As the corona 19 virus continues for a long time, many people suffering from "imagination corona". "Imagination Corona" is a name that is based on what people are going through in the Corona crisis, which means that people imagining if they have a symptoms of Corona, they imagine they infected at corona. In other words it can be said 'Corona virus anxiety'. In severe cases, you experience symptoms that do not exist because of the anxiety that some physical abnormality may become a 'corona'. More and more people are expressing the psychological pressure of Corona 19. Infectious diseases like this can be more than just physical illness and can be a psychological trauma to society as a whole. At the stage of spreading community infection, psychological changes such as fear, anxiety, guilt, and family conflict are possible. Psychological anxiety is a very natural phenomenon, and I think we need to acknowledge the unstable reality. The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said in its 'Corona 19 Heart Health Guidelines' that new infectious diseases are uncertain because there is no accumulated data. They said, "Accept the fact that they can't be controlled as they are, and shift your attention to self-controlled activities." One challenge is not to watch TV all day long. They point out that watching negative news about Corona all day can cause many psychological side effects. I think it's necessary to minimize depressing and unstable information by checking it for a short period of time, such as in the morning and afternoon, and accessing the required amount of information. June 25, the day of the Korean War, is coming soon. I remember the veterans who fought against the fear of death 70 years ago during the Korean War. Now, when I think of the days as scary as the corona virus fear, I feel compassion for veterans who have to fight in the face of death in wars that take place in strange lands. It breaks my heart to think how scary and hard it must have been. I think the reason why I can live so happily is because I live in a country without war. I always thank the veterans who fought for our country. Studying and living happily is the virtue of veterans who fought bravely in the war. I am very grateful for saving me and giving us peace. Without your sacrifice, Koreans would still live in fear of war. Of course it is regrettable that the country is the only divided country in the world. I hope it will be unified soon. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the Korean War. I admire the courage and sacrifice of veterans who lived in the homeland of division and enjoyed this freedom. I hope you always live a healthy and happy life. I write a letter with gratitude. Forget the painful memories of the war and have a good time. I will always live with gratitude. Stay healthy and happy for a long time. Thank you very much. Goodbye. Sincerely So-Jung Jeon.
