World without war is a must.

A Canadian Korean War veteran, Mr. Edward Hansen visits the UNMCK in 55year anniversary of the Armistice Agreement.

In the morning of the 14th of July, a 79 year old Canadian veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Ed Hansen, paid tribute at the UNMCK with his family members and friends.

Being a sergeant in 1951, he was in Daejeon and fought even in the land north of the Armistice Line on several occasions.

Saying that he had a horrible experience in which he witnessed death of a buddy, and wounding of 24 buddies, he emotionally stated that there should be no war in any part of the world.

This was his second visit to Korea since his fighting days in the Korean War. He visited the UNMCK, where his war buddies are interred, with his wife, Linda.

The old couple paid tribute to all 6 of his comrades buried at the UNMCK. With the eyes full of tears, they laid a wooden cross on each of their graves and prayed for each one of them resting at the UNMCK.

Thinking of the comrades died fighting for freedom and peace so far away from our homeland really rips my heart apart. I miss them so much.

There should never be another war like the Korean War.

Visiting Nam-gu again after 25 years (his last visit was in 1983), Mr. Hansen said, “I feel much better that the death of my war buddies wasn’t in vain as I witness a remarkably advanced country of Korea,’ and left the UNMCK with his hand tightly holding Linda’s hand.
