Burial Story
Fusilier Gavillet was from Hartlepool, the son of Alexander and Elizabeth Gavillet. He had served in the Second World War with the Green Howards regiment and had been detained as a prisoner of war in Germany. Subsequently he was posted to Gibraltar where he transferred to the Royal Northumberland Fusiliers. He married Daisy Fryer in 1938, and had two daughters and a son.
