Dear Australian Veteran Hello, My name is Park Junho and I’m a middle school student who wants to thank you. It is October 5, 2017 present, and I wonder when you will receive my message since I believe you are in Australia. However, I believe my thanks will be delivered when you get it. I have earned a chance to thank you of your service and sacrifice for our country. The devotion, dedication you have given is our dept that we hope to pay. I regard the veterans as heroes who helped a country which had no relationship with theirs, however helped the country. It is a very brave action to do so and I respect is very much. Without the assistance of other countries, we would have already lost the war and lost our democratic identity. I am recently have learned about the Korean war at school and it is a very grieve fact that not much people know about it specifically. However, even though, everyone don’t know about the details, everyone know that there was the Korean war in 1950 and other countries helped us and we are in dept of them. I know what great role the combatant nations took, and I am deeply thankful to them. I found that Australia had sent a large amount of assistance and army to help us and at first I was curious why a country sent us that much while we had no relationship. It was a fool question and I know that you were kind, and there is no reason in helping another. In our country, Korean veterans are not having a very good treatment as I expected. I find it very not enough. I hope that you are living a healthy life and have had received a reward from helping others in Australia. I realized that I have been to many countries that helped Korea such as America, Turkey, and Italy. I hope that I would be able to visit Australia, too. I wonder if you had visited Korea once again. Korea is now not the country that received medical, agricultural, food assistance, but it is now one of the developed countries and helping other countries as much as it can. I suppose you are in the seventies or eighties or even nineties. I hope you could visit Korea and view how the country you had helped had grown and feel flattered. The Korean war is a very tragic accident to Korea and other veterans. Due to the Korean war, many families were hurt, separated, and lost after the division. The pain and the leftovers that we have to handle is the left task for us to solve. The opportunity to save and rebuild our country is the favor that we shall keep in mind forever. The most important thing I wanted you to know is not only my thanks but also the fact that the citizens of Korea are always remembering your sacrifice and services to Korea. Bye bye and hope you good luck and health always. From Junho Seoul, Korea
