Dear Unknown Veterans Hello, Unknown Veterans. I'm a 16 years old student from South Korea, Lee ga ram. I don’t have any siblings and I live with my parents and grandparents. I‘m an active teenager who likes playing sports. I usually spend time watching TV and reading news as well. Thus, I had got a lot of chances to learn about Korean War veterans. This year, I read a internet news about a Veteran, Mr. William Speakman. He was buried at UN memorial cemetery in Busan few months ago. He had fought against the Chinese soldiers during the Korean war and he did even come back S. Korea once more again after rehabilitation of his severe leg injury. I was really surprised with his braveness and fighting spirit for the peace. Then suddenly what I have imagined was, there must be much more unknown heroes just like him. This was why I started to write the letter to the Unknown soldiers. I feel very thankful every time I think of your achievement that you made for my country. How could you give up everything in order to fight for the other country? I was really curious about it. If I were you, I swear that I wouldn’t apply for the army. I think you were tremendously brave because you chose to go to the country that you had never been heard or visited at all. South Korea has been developing a lot than the time that you fought. I want to show you how huge the buildings are these days. I think all those buildings could be made by your efforts. If you have not helped us, S. Korea would not be even existed. The peace and freedom nowadays are possible due to your sacrifice. Unfortunately, we are still divided into two different countries, I’m sure that we will be an united country in the near future. When I grow up, I’d like to be a peacemaker like you who tries to render the world peace. I will study hard and become a doctor who cures poor patients all around the world. I will cure the people to be healthy without any discrimination such as amount of money the patients got. I will do the volunteer for the world peace same as what you had done in 1950s for my country. Dear Unknown soldiers, I really respect you and love you. I wish you to rest in peace and I will remember you forever. Thank you for all of your sacrifice. Sincerely Garam Lee
