UNMCK - UNITED NATIONS MEMORIAL CEMETERY IN KOREA

Dear Korean War Veteran, Hello, I'm Yae-eun Lee, 18 years old. I live in Seoul, South Korea. I am writing this to thank you from sacrificing during the Korean War. As many people know, Korea wasn't in a good situation during those days and we might have not achieve without your work. It must not have been easy to fight for another country, which is not your own country, but you have fought for us and eventually we are able to grow remarkably until now. Korea has developed conspicuously and I really think that it is all because of your dedication. I will always remember your work and try to develop myself and our country not to ruin your efforts. Recently, I have taken midterm test and as I studied hard, I got satisfactory scores. Especially I was not that good in English, but this time, I took another way method to study English, and got good grades. During this test period, my father went to China because of his work, so I was lonely a little, but he gave me cheer through messages and I could study harder. In this test, the biology was so hard that I couldn't even read all of the questions. My peers also said that it was too hard, so they even cried because the shocking questions and scores, I studied really hard in that subject because I like it, but I was also disappointed a bit because I couldn't show all the works I have been studied. However, I am especially proud of the scores in Chemistry and Korean. I decided to study harder for the final exams next time. In Korea, students work hard in their studies in order to go to good universities and have good jobs. As a result, the scholarly ambition of students is very high. It is not that easy to study and get good scores in such situations, but I think this is one of the reasons that Korea has improved skills in technology. To develop our country more, I think I should read more books and have more interest in histories and society. Furthermore, I should study more about the efforts and the history of people like you, and try to make more progress not only in technology but also in people's perceptions. Thanks to your sacrifice, our country has been able to come this far, and I won't forget your sacrifice. I will make more efforts for our country to make sure that your sacrifice is never in vain. You are a great person that you've devoted yourself to other countries. I will also try to make sure that other people remember your hard work because I think it should never be forgotten. I always feel grateful. I will try to remember you and do my best for our country. Our country is getting cold these days, and I hope you are doing well in your country. I hope you have happy days.
