UNMCK - UNITED NATIONS MEMORIAL CEMETERY IN KOREA

Dear Korean war veteran Hello, I am jae-hun Chu, and I am 13 years old. And my English name is Louie. I live in Incheon, Korea. I am writing this letter to appreciate your sacrifice during the Korean war. I think Korea right now exist by help of veterans just like you. I respect you a lot for fighting for Korea. From now on, I am going to talk about my life in Korea. I play soccer almost every break time because I really like to play soccer. I also watch many soccer games like Premeir league and La Liga. I like Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and FC Barcelona. Do you also like playing soccer? If you like, I want to watch soccer with you. It will be very fun. It is okay if you do not like it. I will tell you a lot about it. Also, I am studying very much. I am going to academy also on weekend! I sometimes feel so sad because I go to academy every day. But there is one good thing. I don’t have to take exam until this year! In Korea, the government made a new rule that grade seven students will not take a test in 2019. Last year, grade seven students didn’t take the test for one semester. But now, I am not taking exam for a whole year. And my friend said this rule will be disappear in 2020. If that is true, I think I am a lucky guy. Now, I will talk about how much do the students study in Korea. In Seoul, which is the capital city of Korea, students study really hard. Of course there are some students who don’t study, but almost all students study very hard. There are some places which students study the most. They are Gangnam, Daechi dong,etc. In there, grade some grade six or seven students learn math which comes out in grade eleven or twelve. I sometimes think they are crazy. Songdo, where I am living right now, also study hard but not as much as them. I respect the students there. From next year, I also have exams. I think I will have to studt hard for the exam to go to a great high school and university. Please cheer me so that I can get a good score in the exam next year. In our school, we are playing sports league. It is like tournament. Class presidents pick the class where they will take a game with. Last semester, boys played soccer, basket ball, and flying disk And girls played dodgeball and foot baseball. Foot baseball is baseball playing by foot, not hand. During last semester, we were so sad. we lost every game only without flying disk. There were many events, but we won only one game. But in second semester, boys did great. We became the second place. We got certificate and also some money. We were so proud of ourselves. And I also have a bad news. Our school don’t go to field trip. When I was in elementary school, we went field trip at least twice a year. And also, another middle school which is located near our school go field trip. I was really sad when I first heard that. But funnily, I think I already adapted with the school life without field trip. This is my story. Was it fun? Again, I thank you for your sacrifice and fight for Korea.
