Sergeant Henry Aubrey Chaperlin mans a Vickers .303 machine-gun in combat against the Chinese on one of the regular 3RAR patrols towards Chipyong-Ni in February 1951. The Chinese fourth offensive began on 11 February, and US and French forces were besieged in Chipyong-Ni from 12 to 15 February. The 27th Brigade, including 3RAR, fought forward on the eastern route and by 16 February the Chinese had withdrawn from the battlefield.
