Private Jack Clark, a despatch rider with 3RAR, Korea, April 1951. Pte Clark was at this time the despatch rider for the battalion’s second in command, Major Wally Brown. He is pictured sitting on the motorcycle used by his friend and fellow scrambles rider in Sydney, Private Robert Parker, who was the despatch rider for the battalion’s commanding officer, Lt Col Ferguson. Parker was taken prisoner-of-war by Communist Chinese troops on 24 April 1951, not long after taking this photograph, and Clark then became the commanding officer’s despatch rider.
