TO. UN war veterans in ETHIOPIA Hi~ i'm yebom from South Korea. i'm 17 years old and i'm studying at Goyang Global High Scool. i'm very happy to write this letter to you :) This semester, my school club called 우리42 regularly visit 6.25 war veterans who are Korean. What they said to me was so impressive. When i heard that many countries helped my country, I'm very touched. Especially, thank Ethiopia. Ethiopia has dispatched the royal guard and 6,037 ground troops, who were the most elite during the Korean War. Ethiopian veterans, who were the only men on the continent to send ground troops and combat from the front line, Even in the tough life, they still pray for the happiness of Korea by hinting at a deep friendship with Korea. 6,037 soldiers, including 658 civilians, all returned to their homeland. But in 1974, Ethiopia was forced out by a military coup by Emperor Selassie. The communist regime has come under attack, and under the Communists, the veterans are accused of helping the capitalist nation. He had a severe time of suffering, not having a chance to seize property and to have a chance to work. Because of this, veterans and descendants of veterans live poor and difficult lives. The veterans, who had no opportunity to work and lose their property, were even forced to pass on poverty to their descendants. Veterans who had to fight in strange circumstances during the Korean War! It is now our turn to help them. When I grow up, I will support and support the descendants of Ethiopia. Without the help of the Ethiopians, there might have been no present here. I saw the news that one ot Ethiopia veteerans said "I am very happy because now Korea become an advanced country. Let's hope Ethiopia and Korea's friendship will last forever. " I would rather say that I am more appreciative.
