Dear Korean War veterans, Hi, I am 15 years old student named Jeon Sojung and live in Seoul, Korea. I'm writing this letter to say thank you. I like science and watching movies with my friends. I'm studying in such a peaceful country and having fun with my friends. I think it is because I live in a country where there is no war. Thanks to you, I can live as happily as I do now. I'm always grateful to the veterans who fought for our country. I learned about Korean war at history class. The Korean War is a painful and tragic war between the Korean people that took place about 50 years ago. The number of casualties reached several million and by the time the ceasefire lasted three years, and many people were killed and displaced, and families were left in abeyance. I heard about the UN forces who participated in the Korean War. I know we are keeping peace because of the soldiers. I thank the soldiers for fighting for our country even though they have their own family and country. Studying comfortably and living happily are the virtues of veterans who fought bravely in the war. I am very grateful for saving me and giving us peace. If it wasn't for you, Koreans would still live in fear. A few month ago, Moon Jae-in and Kim Jeong-eun met at the DMZ Peace House, and had a historic inter-Korean summit. I was at school at the moment. Everyone watched the show with breathless attention. It was heartbreaking to find out that Korea is the only divided country in the world, and I hope to unify it soon. I'm sure your intrepid fight has made our country the way it is now. It is regrettable that unification has not yet been achieved in 2018 after 65 years, but I am confident that peaceful reunification will be achieved soon. Thanks again for protecting the country and respecting veterans. We appreciate your sacrifice, dedication, and courage. I will never forget your great love for our history. The old war in our country is getting forgotten and developing. I think it's all thanks to those who didn't save their lives for us and sacrificed their lives in the war. I will always live with thanks. To study hard and be a person who helps my country, I will make sure to work hard to live a faithful life every day for my dream. Thank you very much.
