UNMCK - UNITED NATIONS MEMORIAL CEMETERY IN KOREA

Dear. the soldiers who participated in the Korean War Hi, I am a normal high school student named MinJi Kim in South Korea. I write this thank you letter about helping the Korea in the Korean War. I accidentally saw a picture which contains a scene that prisoners of Korea who were repatriated to Korea by taking a train met military of foreign country. So I had attention about the Korean War and I searched about the information in order to look into more details. I have learned new facts about the Korean War through numerous information. I was really surprised at what the soldiers did at that time. They helped the Korea a lot beyond my imagination. It would be so hard to do as the Korea War was so horrible. So, I thank you to you also including all other soldiers who participated in the Korean War too. I do not regret about finding information because I have moved at this and I’ve learned that we must remember this war forever. We should also have a lot of attention about this important War and it should be meaningful history for all of us. Once again, thank you for helping the Korea when our circumstances were hard to manage and thank you for your efforts to overcome the stiff challenge. I think Korea could survived by them who came from many countries to help Korea. Many Koreans have been living in the good circumstances today thanks to you. You saved a valuable life of many people. This is the reason why I wanted to say thank you by writing this letter. It’s been a long time since the Korean War. This cruel war has been forgotten by the people. I have heard that South Korean president met North Korean leader Kim Jong-un some months ago. I expect reunification might be possible someday based on the current international situation. However, I think we should remember this significant history and the victims of the war forever not to repeat unfortunate history. A lot of people were dead without any reason at that time and many of separated families have been being suffered for a long time. We should keep trying to preserve this peace with all our efforts. This kind of unfortunate war shouldn’t be repeated again. I would like to close my letter with my sincere appreciation for your help and contribution to our peace.
