UNMCK - UNITED NATIONS MEMORIAL CEMETERY IN KOREA

Dear. The Soldiers Who Sacrificed for our Country, Korea Hello. My name is Eun Hye Cho and I will be attending high school this year. I am here at this moment to write a thank you letter for participating in the Korean War. Two weeks ago, I had a chance to watch a movie which has the background of Korean War. Although it was just a movie, the mere fact that it drew a story of war made me feel fearful and scared. I never experienced any kind of war, but I know that it must have been more cruel and frightful than I could ever imagine. When I was in that situation, I couldn’t have done anything because I would be so scared. Originating from these feelings, I became so thankful for the soldiers who participated in this war. I know it would never have been easy to fight in a war by risking one’s lives. And for that reason, I surely think that we should always remember this war. Just because we have a higher quality of life now doesn’t mean we can forget the history. The reason why our Korea has been so advanced is because there were lots of unknown people who sacrificed themselves for Korea. For that point, I sincerely thank you again for helping Korea. Your brave actions saved precious lives of people and that leads to the existence of me and my friends. To repay your sacrifice, the thing I could do in this period is to remember the past and to pay tribute for the soldiers who contributed for Korea. Living every second and every moment, I will always pay respect for you since you made the world a better place. I am planning to visit DMZ with my friends next week. In there, I am going to learn more about Korean War. I guess the work of our generation is to protect the country still and safe. For this, I will study hard and become a person who can spread your dedication all over the Earth. I also think that more national places and anniversaries that can commemorate your contribution such as Memorial Days should be made. To say the conclusion, I just wanted to notify that there are so many citizens around us who admire and appreciate the sacrifices. I hope you have a peaceful and beautiful life.
