Dear, Korean War Veterans Hello, I am 16 years old student named Jeon Sojung and living in Seoul, Korea. Our country has become a divided country through past war. Thank you very much to the men of national merit who fought in the Korean War. Not long ago, the historic meeting was achieved between the leaders of South Korea, North Korea and the United States in the DMZ. My parents surprised at this movie-like moment and said, ‘This day comes, too.’ I'm still young, so I don't know much about war. I imagine sometimes that 'if there's a war going on...', but frankly, it doesn't touch me. But it is certainly that all the people are afraid of all kind of wars. It's scary to think that you can break up with your family and lose your life because of war. For a while, people bought emergence supplies and searched for ways to evacuate by war, but after seeing the leaders of the two Koreans meet and shake hands again, I was very expecting about the unification. I do not know how the future of the Korea will be, but I expect that our country will soon be unified like East Germany and West Germany. I think that we are studying freely and enjoying our freedom is a freedom that can not be enjoyed if it was not supported by the sacrifices of former UN veterans. I have recently made Mugunghwa as a confetti at the UN Park ritual ceremony of the veterans who loved Mugunghwa a few years ago. I am sorry that I could not give Mugunghwa as a flower. I am glad to be able to convey my feelings even in this letter, and I sincerely hope that the South and North Korea reconcile and become a peaceful Korean Peninsula. I saw an article that Vice President Mike Pence, the No. 2 U.S. President of the Trump administration, visited the National Cemetery in Dongjak-dong during visiting South Korea and pay one's respects at the National Cemetery. U.S. Vice President Mike Pence reportedly expressed his special feelings toward South Korea in Air Force, a private jet, before landing at Osan Air Base. Vice President Pence was visibly emotional on his way to Korea. The reason that he is so emotional about Korea is because of his special relationship with Korea. Vice President Pence's father, Maj. Edward Pence, has a history of fighting in the Korean War. On April 15, 1953, Ms. Pence received the Bronze Star Award for his work. Mike Pence said, "I wonder what he's thinking, looking down from heaven at my third son," "I came back to Korea where his dedication of freedom and prosperity is left ." That's why the vice president Mike Pence had more special feelings at Korea. He told soldiers that his commitment to the historic alliance with South Korea had never been so strong, and he realized that many veterans of the Korean War had been sacrificed in the Korean War. I hope that peace comes Korean Peninsula as soon as possible. Sincerely So-Jung Jeon
