UNMCK - UNITED NATIONS MEMORIAL CEMETERY IN KOREA

Dear the war veteran Hi, I am seongyon kim, the second grade student of seoul okjung middle school in the republic of Korea (South Korea). I saw many things about the Korean war through newspaper, articles, photos and movies etc. I also heard many people were killed and got injuried in the war. It means that you were so brave and considerable person. So, I want to say 'thank you' to you for your kind and respectable help to our country. Thanks to your sacrifice, Korean war was ended and we, Korean people, are now enjoying a peace and liberty and living in a developed country. When I imagine about the war, I can imagine a blooper, a dead person, a dull sky, gun sound etc. Many scary situations. I can't imagine how scared you were and how hard to endure in that dangerious situation. It is interesting that people in other contries know about Korea these day, but I wonder how you came to Korea, the small country in more than 60 years ago? At that time, Korea was a really poor country and almost no other country people knows about Korea. Korea, at that time, was a newly established independant country after more than 45 years of Japanese colonial period. But again, thanks for your sacrifice and help, we, Korea, became a one of the fastest growing developed country in the world. How did you made up your mind to participated in Korea conflict and korean war ? Participating in the war might be really a hard decision to normal person like me. I want to say that you must be a really brave person. How did you stand the urge to see your family? I think I'll be very lonely if i don't see my family more than two days. But you might stay in a very strange country you never visited before without meeting and communicating with your family and friends even in the war. How hard you were and how you could endure the fear ? I am unimaginable. So, with this great chance, I want to say 'thank you' to you again and again and again. but, you might so hard and tired. Again, thank you very much. Due to your participate, we live peacefully and korea developed a lot. Have you ever heard K-pop? especially "Gangnam style" by PSY? K-pop is also very famous and many people all over the world enjoy listening K-pop, and I believe this is also for your help. I will never forget your support and help to my country, and if i have any chance in the future, i will also help to other country, although not as a soldier, but as other kind of means.
